Gretchen Comly is the founder and creative director for her namesake. Her career as a marketing/acquisitions vice president for universal studios and dreamworks took a turn towards her passion, design. Gretchen has developed a lush urban line for the the bold independent woman. Her inspiration is derived from extensive travels in Asia, Africa, Central America, and Europe, as well as, several years of residence in Australia, Amish Country, Hong Kong, France and London. Gretchen’s educational background started at Hollins College, Virginia and the University of London. Her design background comes from stints at the San Francisco Art Institute and the Otis School of Design in Los Angeles. Gretchen’s designs are made by a group of women artists in Brooklyn, New York, Los Angeles, CA and Sag Harbor, New York. Gretchen enjoys sleeping on planes, Brooklyn neighborhoods that haven't flipped, friends who drop by unannounced, Diller + Scofidio, Cardamon Iced Tea, Tame Impala, and daughter Penelope Bird and son Watts.
